Stories
Conscientious Objectors
Pam Rhodes is at the former Rowntree's chocolate factory in York, discovering how the Rowntree family supported wartime Quakers facing imprisonment as conscientious objectors. Chris Lawson explains how the Friends Ambulance Unit was set up to give wartime tasks to those who refused to fight. Peter Rutter, 92, explains why his Christian faith compels him to be a conscientious objector, and how he served on the front line during WW2, and helped rehabilitate concentration camp survivors.
Tattoos
Rob Popejoy is a Chaplain with a difference - he is covered in tattoos. Although at first glance you wouldn't think his faith influences the way he looks - all Rob's tattoos are influenced by Christianity. Whilst his tattoos can alienate some people, Rob has found that a good bi-product of having tattoos is that people want to talk to him and want to find out the meanings. We see Rob talking to students at Bath City College where he works, to find out what they think. Rob is also a youth worker at St. Michael's Church in Twerton.
Bible Reggae
David is in St. Giles Church in Wrexham where last year an original 1611 First Edition King James Bible was discovered having been locked away and forgotten in a store cupboard. To mark Black History Month聽- David explains how phrases from the King James Bible found their way into the lyrics of many famous Reggae tunes.聽聽
