Episode 1
Seumas MacDonald narrates a series about the wildlife of the Scottish Highlands. It is spring, the most unpredictable of all seasons in the Cairngorms.
Air a' chiad shealladh, tha coltas uaigneach, gun bhe貌 air a' Gh脿idhealtachd ach tha beartas fiadh-bheatha anns an 脿ite chruaidh seo, ma tha fhios agad c脿ite an coimhead thu. Ged a tha na r脿ithean cruaidh 's gun na cothromanan ach gann, tha ainmhidhean agus daoine an-c貌mhnaidh air d貌igh fhaighinn gus soirbheachadh an seo, a' tionndadh duilgheadas gu buannachd.
Ann an ceithir phr貌graman, bidh Seumas D貌mhnallch ag aithris air cridhe fiadhaich na h-Alba, a' Gh脿idhealtachd.
Gar toirt tro na raithean, ch矛thear bho dheireadh a' Mh脿rt agus na beanntan a' Mhonaidh Ruaidh fo sm脿l nam falaisgearan gu d霉nadh a' gheamhraidh agus sealgairean leithid iolairean-buidhe a' gluasad astar fada airson biadh fhaighinn.
On the face of it, things look bleak and lifeless but wildlife is thriving in this unforgiving place, if you know where to look.
Seumas MacDonald takes us through the harsh seasons to discover that although opportunities may be fleeting, animals and people find ways to succeed here, turning adversity into advantage. The series will follow the seasons as they come full circle from late March in the Cairngorm Mountains with the hills on fire to the winter lock down when predators like golden eagles range widely to find food.
