Not only was Shirley Horn a highly talented pianist, she possessed one of the mosy distinctive voices in jazz. She was at her best in club settings and shown on this recently discovered set. Joey Alexander, on the other hand, is just approaching his teens. Born in Bvali in Indonesia, he was discovered by Herbie Hancock, and in an incredibly short time has taken New York by storm. This is his second album, and one which shows his remarkable maturity.
