Lauren serves up the best live music we had to offer in 2016. As it's the season of sharing some 6 Music friends will send us their favourites too, so we'll be joined by Craig Charles, Marc Riley, Cerys Matthews and Steve Lamacq who pick some of their favourite sessions of the year.

What a year it's been for live music in these here parts. Live sessions are part of our very fabric and what a way to celebrate a great year of music by digging out the likes of The Kills, Animal Collective, Saul Williams, Car Seat Headrest, Calypso Rose, Michael Kiwanuka at 6 Music Live, and Bat For Lashes to name just a few. From Maida Vale to our Live Room at Wogan House, from Lauren Laverne to Steve Lamacq, sit back and enjoy the spontaneity of something that can never be performed in the same way ever again.
