Lauren's Best Of The Guests 2016

Lauren shares her favourite interviews of 2016, including Geno Washington, Charlie Brooker, Iggy Pop, and Laurie Anderson

On last week's Boxing Day show we looked at the best live music that we had to offer in 2016. But today, we鈥檙e looking at our favourite interviews and guests and the same year. Iggy Pop joined us in February to talk all about his album Post Pop Depression, and to share his love of David Bowie. Black Mirror creator and 鈥渦nderwhelmist鈥� Charlie Brooker muses over his version of happiness and all the things wrong with Mr Men. The legendary Ronnette Ronnie Spector saw us back in May to talk about playing Glastonbury, and how she first came to being a singer. Mercury Prize winning artist Skepta came by just as we announced the nominees for this year鈥檚 prize in August, and spoken word artist Testament freestyled at Rochdale Central Library back in October. If all of that wasn鈥檛 enough, Laurie Anderson imparted her rules for life, as created with husband Lou Reed. And rounding off our greatest guests of 2016 Geno Washington, sometimes no words are needed, but just listen to his laugh.
