Lepra
Lepra works in some of the poorest communities around the world taking on the fight against neglected diseases like leprosy. This means improving access to healthcare so that fewer children, women and men are left living with the disabling effects of the disease. It also means looking at ways of improving a person鈥檚 life as a whole. To do that, Lepra also tackles the issues of poverty and prejudice that all too often accompany leprosy, by running health education campaigns and livelihood training.
Health Education
Last year we reached more than 2.3 million people though health education and events to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding these diseases.聽

Reducing prejudice through education
Kumari has been a community champion since April 2016. Our community champions help is to reach the more remote and rural areas which often have very limited healthcare facilities.
