It's Film Day with a review of Oscar-nominated interracial marriage drama Loving

It's Film Day with reviews of interracial marriage drama Loving, Matthew McConaughey's new film Gold and Toni Erdmann, Maren Ade's study of an estranged father and daughter.

It's film day: we'll discuss the much anticipated, Loving - an Oscar nominated, drama about a couple who challenged the State of Virginia's prohibition of interracial marriage during the 1960's.

Regular Critics, Siobhan Synnot & Alison will share their thoughts on the film, and on this week's big cinema releases: including Oscar winner, Matthew McConaughey's new film, Gold - inspired by actual events, it's the epic tale of one man's pursuit of the American dream - to discover Gold!!

And the Oscar-nominated, Toni Erdmann - German writer/director Maren Ade's humane, hilarious study of an estranged, mutually depressive, father and daughter. It's an insightful tale about a prank-prone dad trying to lighten up his serious business-woman daughter!

Later in the show, two-time Granta Best Young British Novelist A L Kennedy tells us about her new children's book! - Uncle Shawn and Bill (and the almost entirely unplanned adventure) -

All that and Grant Stott: he'll discuss his decision to 'hang up his headphones' after 27 years of broadcasting- well for a while anyway! Grant is planning to take his own one man show on the road TALES FROM BEHIND THE MIC and he'll tell us all about it

All that and much more, from two o'clock on Thursday, here on 大象传媒 Radio Scotland

Don't Miss it!
