Climate experts from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will release their annual data on global temperatures. Professor Ellie Highwood is a professor of climate physics at the University of Reading and President of the Royal Meteorological Society.

A new study from King鈥檚 College London and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust has shown for the first time that cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) strengthens specific connections in the brains of people with psychosis, and that these stronger connections are associated with long-term reduction in symptoms. Laura Moulding has suffered depression with psychotic symptoms and successfully undertook CBT. Dr Liam Mason is lead author at King鈥檚 College London and a clinical psychologist at the Maudsley Hospital where the听research took place.

When a hole opened up, for seemingly no reason, in Sheffield on Monday night several newspapers reported it as a 鈥榮inkhole鈥 because the area, especially north around Ripon, is prone to this rare natural phenomenon. Dr Phil Murphy is a geologist at the University of Leeds.
