Sammy Wilson MP blasts 大象传媒 and Sinn Fein over controversial RHI scheme
The DUP have come out on the attack over RHI - accusing the 大象传媒 of bias and having a go at Sinn Fein.
The DUP have come out on the attack over RHI - accusing the 大象传媒 of bias and having a go at Sinn Fein. Their MP Sammy Wilson has alleged the "大象传媒 aided and abetted the political enemies of the DUP to create a crisis". The party have also published an election leaflet in which they claim a number of facts, including that there will be "no future overspend".
That statement is at odds with what DUP MLA and economy minister Simon Hamilton said just two weeks ago. Stephen talks to DUP MP Sammy Wilson, Sinn Fein MLA Conor Murphy, Alliance MLA David Ford, and we get reaction from commentator Malachi O'Doherty and journalist Allison Morris.
Also on the programme, the Trump administration is standing firm over its ban on immigration from seven countries despite court rulings and mass protests against it. In a statement, President Trump said visas would once again be issued once "the most secure policies" were in place, and denied it was a Muslim ban. Last night on 5 Live Stephen spoke to Ali Hamedani, a British passport holder who works for the 大象传媒 World Service and who has been subjected to President Trump's intense immigration scrutiny practices. Mr. Hameadani had his mobile phone taken off him and he was told to hand over his password. They searched through his telephone, looking through his Twitter account for any political views. Stephen spoke to him from Chicago's O'Hare Airport. He landed there yesterday afternoon from London Heathrow, travelling with American Airlines.
