27 year old Kimberley Taylor from Blackburn is believed to be the first British woman who has gone to fight the so-called Islamic State in Syria. We speak to Dilar Dirik, who has spent time with the YPJ, as part of her PHD studies.

A crisis in funding for domestic abuse refuges has led to the closure of one in six of them in England between 2010 and 2016. Women's Aid are particularly concerned for the future of those that remain because of the proposed new funding model for refuges due to be implemented in 2019. Polly Neate, their chief executive explains.
Hip hop culture has had its fair share of criticisms for being misogynistic. So what can hip hop culture and breakdancing offer females? To find out, Jac Phillimore went along to a B-Girl class in Leith, a free breakdancing session for women and girls run by Hip hop education company The State.
Newcastle University researchers evaluated the "BabyClear" programme which follows the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance around smoking in pregnancy by screening all pregnant women for smoking using carbon monoxide monitoring. Jane talks to Dr Ruth Bell a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Health and Society at the University about how this approach helps double the number of women who give up.
