20/02/2017 - 'Minnie's ceilings were canary yellow gloss paint'

Sean is impressed by plasterers using stilts, Maureen remembers her mother papering the ceiling with a floor brush and John painted a ceiling yellow as white fades to yellow anyway.

Sean is impressed by plasterers who use stilts. Painters ring in to say that they're too neat to use stilts. John was on an ACE scheme and in one house the woman wanted the ceiling painted canary yellow because it would turn yellow anyway. Maureen remembers her mother painting and papering (while her father stood and watched) and confirms that a floor brush was used to smooth the paper when it was on the ceiling. A man claimed that he could light a fire without using sticks. Only newspaper. If you have warm hands you will never be a good baker. The first bumble bee of the year has been spotted in Rathcoole. Music from Crosby Stills and Nash, Ward Thomas, Simon and Garfunkel, Emmylou Harris, Sweet, Hank Locklin and more.
