Lilian seeks another point of view, and Brian gets a telling off.

Eddie gives Ruth and David a hand treating the herd for I.B.R. They need to treat all their cattle, even though the Herefords are showing no symptoms. They acknowledge they'll probably never know where the infection came from. It's a costly business; not just for the medication, but also in terms of low milk yields.

Eddie's exercised by all the special offers and extras Ambridge Hall's offering its guests. He doesn't want to see the competition get ahead, but he can't hope to keep up at this rate.

Brian's avoiding his sister-in-law. He's less worried about Lilian's emotionally raw state than he is about the effect her rejection of Justin's proposal will have. Justin's suggested Borchester Land go in with Damara on the purchase of a broiler unit; Brian hopes Justin's not so bruised that he won't be able to think straight. When Lilian attempts to rope Brian in to a discussion as to why Justin hasn't contacted her, he makes his excuses and a sharp exit. Brian reports later there's a risk BL won't go for the potentially lucrative broiler unit deal. He hopes the situation between Justin and Lilian resolves itself soon. He may need Justin to cut him some slack; otherwise it's going to reflect badly on Brian's competence as chair.
