Mary Anne speaks to artists Adam Pendleton and Julie Mehretu, who, along with two others, have just bought Nina Simone's childhood home in North Carolina.

Conceptualist Adam Pendleton, abstract painter Julie Mehretu, sculptor and painter Rashid Johnson, and filmmaker Ellen Gallagher, paid 拢95,000 for the house, which they hope to preserve as an important historical site.

Expect tunes from the legend that is Nina Simone, plus songs from other musicians whose homes can be visited, including Jimi Hendrix (who once lived next door to George Frideric Handel) and John Lennon.
