Neonicotinoids, Tofu dairy, Film about farmers

New research has calculated the cost to farmers of the EU's ban on neonicotinoid pesticides. Sybil Ruscoe finds out why the ban remains in place, and what it means for farming.

New academic research has put a price tag on the cost to farmers of the current neonicotinoid pesticide ban. The report calculates it to be 拢18.4 million. Is it a price worth paying, to save the UK's declining bee population? Meanwhile an application from farmers wanting to be exempted from the ban has been turned down by the government. Sybil Ruscoe finds out more about what the ban may mean for arable farming in the future.

Farming Today continues its week-long look at veganism, with a visit to a micro soya dairy in Norwich.

And Sybil talks to a film-maker about his latest film - a hard-hitting look at life on three small cattle farms in West Cornwall.
