Author Jonathan Taplin joins Shaun

Jonathan Taplin - producer of The Last Waltz and tour manager for The Band - joins Shaun to chat about his new book. Plus Shaun is after Earworms.

Shaun is after your Earworms before 8am. Plus, Matt Everitt is here with the music news.

After 9am - author Jonathan Taplin - Google critic, Scorsese producer and tour manager for The Band joins Shaun to chat about his new book "Move Fast and Break Things: How Google, Facebook and Amazon Cornered Culture and Undermined Democracy". The Chicago Tribune called it an 'excellent new book...explains exactly how Google, Facebook and Amazon are undermining democratic institutions, accelerating the rise of oligarchy in America, and destroying both cultural and economic opportunities for millions of people.'

Jonathan tells Shaun about his career - he produced Martin Scorsese's first major feature film, Mean Streets which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. Between 1974 and 1996, Taplin produced 26 hours of television documentaries (including The Prize and Cadillac Desert for the Public Broadcasting Service) and 12 feature films including The Last Waltz.
