Northern Soul World Cup

Steve celebrates great Northern Soul tracks in the latest edition of his Musical World Cup. DJ and Wigan Casino stalwart Richard Searling is on hand to draw the fixtures.

Steve Lamacq's Musical World Cup returns. Most recently, 大象传媒 6 Music's very own Jarvis Cocker, lifted the Alternative 90s Anthem Cup, on behalf of Common People.

This time round we're dusting the talcum powder off our wide-legged trouser to celebrate great Northern Soul tracks. After getting listeners to share their favourite records last week, a shortlist of 16 has been drawn up, and these dancefloor fillers will go into the hat, to compete for the trophy.

We'll assess the contenders, debate any shocking omissions, and draw the fixtures, with the help of DJ, and one-time Wigan Casino stalwart, Richard Searling.
