Music 'til Midnight - Moira Stuart showcases the best in easy listening sounds and timeless standards performed by the greatest artists of the past 60 years. Including Julie London, Steve Tyrell, Blossom Dearie, Randy Newman and The Singers Unlimited. This week's featured album is The Four Freshmen and Five Trombones. This was vocal quartet The Four Freshmen's second release for Capitol Records in 1955. Featuring the Freshmen with a group of LA's finest session trombonists, including Milt Bernhart, Frank Rosolino and George Roberts in arrangements by Pete Rugolo, this critically acclaimed album also became a surprise best seller. It reached Number 6 and stayed in the US album charts for 8 months. It was also the first record bought by a 13 year old Brian Wilson who would go on to form the Beach Boys and has always acknowledged just how much of an influence The Four Freshmen were on his own music. The featured tracks include Love Is Just Around The Corner, Angel Eyes and Our Love Is here To Stay.
