They celebrated long and hard on Humberside when it was announced that Hull would be the UK City of Culture 2017.

Now, as Hull鈥檚 year-long cultural jamboree approaches halfway, the competition to inherit its crown in 2021 is heating up.

Eleven cities have thrown their hats into the ring.聽聽Flying the flag for Wales are Swansea and St Davids.
