Qasa Alom
In honour of Women in Sport week Qasa asks, do Asian families do enough to get girls playing sport?
It's Women in Sport week, which wants to get more women playing sport and raise the awareness of existing female participation. But do Asian families encourage their daughters enough to play sport? Then, Qasa talks to music producer Sammy Chand about his soundtrack for the film The Black Prince, which opens the London Indian Film Festival on Thursday. After that we discuss Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Have you heard of it before? If not, chances are you're not the only one. Mya Choudry from Ehlers-Danlos Support UK talks about their project which aims to make more South Asian people aware of EDS. Anouar Kassim, organiser of Milton Keynes' Art in the Park festival, talks about what to expect, and artist Shaheen Kasmani talks about her 'beehive' project on display there, which explores the theme of migration. A video from a US dating show has become popular online. It features a woman insisting that the man pay the bills on the first date. So we ask: should men always pay on the first date? And actress Joanna Lumley and Lord Loomba discuss International Widows Day on Friday, and how the Loomba Foundation is helping widows and their children around the world.
