Gordon Langford

Frank Renton celebrates the groundbreaking brass band music of Gordon Langford.

Band libraries around the world are full of the wonderful arrangements and original compositions of Gordon Langford who died in April. Frank Renton looks back over his distinguished career which included numerous ground-breaking recordings with The Black Dyke Band, an Ivor Novello Award and the orchestration of several block buster Hollywood movies. We'll revisit his classic arrangements of British Folk Songs and remember great original music such as his Rhapsody for Trombone.
