In the Guest Takeover, 29-year-old Olaoluwa Baikie asks why there are so few BAME blood donors. Plus Sarah Brett and Nihal Arthanayake meet Ronnie O'Sullivan and Kayo Chingonyi.
Sarah Brett and Nihal Arthanayake present an afternoon of news, sport and conversation. Today's Guest Takeover comes from Olaoluwa Baikie. Olaoluwa is 29 and has sickle cell disease and asks: Why aren't more people from ethnic minority backgrounds giving blood?
Snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan reveals what gave him the cue to get into crime writing with his new novel, Framed. Translated as 'initiation' poet, Kayo Chingonyi's debut book, Kumukanda is named after the rites a young boy from the Luvale tribe must undertake in order pass through to adulthood. Alongside the book Kayo sits down to discuss roles music, language, literature, masculinity, and Britishness played in its creation.
