Alasdair Beatson (piano)
Doric String Quartet

Alasdair Beatson joins the Doric String Quartet in Thomas Ad猫s's single-movement Piano Quintet, a virtuosic modern take on classical sonata form, and Elgar's dramatically intense Piano Quintet in A minor. Peter Pears described Britten's late Third String Quartet as being 'of a profound beauty more touching than anything else, radiant, wise, new, mysterious - overwhelming'.
