Clarrie gets ready to host, and Oliver expresses his thanks.
Clarrie has been working hard to prepare Grange Farm for Caroline's memorial ceremony. Everyone admires the garden, which was actually planted by Caroline. Clarrie wants to apologise to Oliver again about the B&B, but all is forgiven and forgotten. He's so grateful to be able to hold the memorial at Grange Farm.
Alan reads a passage from Ecclesiastes, evoking Caroline's love of nature, and her belief that everyone has a place in the ecosystem. He also gets some laughs with the poem "My Funeral" by Wendy Cope. Shula recounts some of the fun Caroline got her up to when they were young. Peggy recalls how she disapproved of Caroline at first, but Jack recognised her potential. And Oliver talks fondly of their shared love of Italian opera, and how Caroline made him the happiest of men.
After the ceremony, everyone shares their own memories of Caroline: her charm and empathy; the predicaments she had with dogs; the time she played the beautiful princess in Aladdin; the terrible accident that killed Shula's first husband and destroyed Caroline's faith. In a quiet moment, Ed returns the smashed jug which he has mended. Oliver's impressed with the repair. Ed says it's just like how Oliver and Caroline mended him - now you can hardly see where the damage was.
