Mark Radcliffe: reserving that audio sunlounger on that 6 Music rock and roll beach for you all afternoon. He's joined today by possibly the tallest bassist in 80s electro-pop, Andy McClusky of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Formed in the Wirral in 1978 with school pal Paul Humphreys, the pioneering synth-pop group's early albums 'Architecture and Morality' and 'Dazzle Ships' shaped the dominant sound of the 80s. Alongside the Human League and Gary Numan, OMD mapped out the musical landscape of the time and helped to mint this new genre with hits such as 'Enola Gay', 'Electricity' and 'Souvenir'. Andy's here to talk about their latest album, which has been named after an 1891 painting by the Italian divisionist Giovanni Segantini...
