Crucial R. L. Burnside

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre, and his Crucial Vinyl (a cherished album from his own collection) is R. L. Burnside's Come On In, released in 1998.

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre - mixing his favourite new music with classics from the UK, Europe, USA, Jamaica, Africa, Japan and way beyond.

Each week he also highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl - a cherished album from his own collection. This time it's R. L. Burnside's Come On In, released in 1998.

Don says, "Born in 1926 this late American blues artist went unnoticed until the 90's when he hooked up with Fat Possum, a label that knows a thing or two about Mississippi bluesmen. These remixes of original R.L recordings, along with live performances, would see him find a whole new audience in his later years.".
