Pip makes an embarrassing mistake, and Lily is left speechless.

Kate's desperate to 'regenerate her connection' with Noluthando, and can't understand why Jennifer's making waves over Nolly's extended stay in Ambridge. Kate suggests to bored Noluthando that they pop over to Lower Loxley to see the twins. Noluthando grudgingly acquiesces. She finds the visit to Lily and Freddie unexpectedly agreeable, and is particularly keen on the idea of the Hunt Ball. The hunting talk disgusts Kate, and she leaves. Noluthando snubs Lily's offer of tips on the local culture, and she too flounces off, much to Freddie's amusement. He's very impressed; not many people get the better of his sister.
Alistair's working on his reply to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons regarding the complaint against him. He's not really listening to Shula's hunt ball woes. He's had a call from Sal Blakedown, who wants to know how a horse had died in his care. He and Shula can't work out how Sal knew. And worse, Sal seems to be cooling off on them now Anisha's not around.
Pip finds busy Toby up to his ears in bottling gin. She feeds him lunch, and they chat warmly. Pip picks up the wrong signals, and makes a move to kiss Toby. He's shocked and upset. She can't mess him about like this! Chastened, Pip retreats.
