Shula's day goes from bad to worse, and Ruth makes plans for the future.
Ruth notices Toby in the yard at Brookfield. He's looking for Josh, and Pip appears and explains that Josh is out. Toby leaves abruptly. Ruth tells Pip that she and David would be happy for her to move back to Rickyard. They are hoping to expand the dairy herd and want to know Pip's commitment to the farm. Pip agrees to stay, on the condition that Ruth and David have a holiday and Pip insists on paying for flights. Ruth agrees and Toby reappears, quickly retreating. Ruth asks Pip about the awkward atmosphere, but Pip maintains she and Toby are still friends.
Shula informs Alistair that the news about losing the horse is spreading beyond Sal Blakedown. Alistair believes nobody will believe the rumours and decides the college will dismiss the complaint. They discuss arrangements for the Hunt Ball and it transpires Alistair may have to be on call much to Shula's displeasure. Latif appears and is disappointed not to see Anisha but wants to learn more about Graham, who'll be covering. Latif has heard the rumours and Alistair has to reassure Latif that the college will exonerate them from any blame. Shula worries - will Alistair lose Latif, one of his biggest clients? Alistair is determined to get on and stop worrying.
