Jamie Cullum interviews writer and pianist Jay Rayner on his musical heroes and journey to the London Jazz Festival 2017.
In 2012 Jay formed his own quartet after 30 years of playing the piano and 'not being very good' - this has culminated in the release of his first live album, A Night Of Food And Agony recorded at Brasserie Zedel and featuring some brilliant takes on a repertoire of well-known classics.
Together he and Jamie discuss their mutual appreciation for artists such as Bill Evans, Liane Carroll and Julian Joseph as well as Jay's passion for music and how it relates to his first love, food.
