Martin Gilbert, CEO of Aberdeen Standard investments talks to Edi Stark about his early life in Malaysia and coming to Aberdeen, aged nine, as a boarder at Robert Gordon's College. He co- founded Aberdeen Fund managers and became one of the richest men in Scotland, although, he tells Edi, he could have been wealthier. He reflects on the toughest time in his career, being torn apart by the treasury select committee and how he rebuilt his reputation and business. He also discusses the recent merger of Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life.
