This is a first-hand account of life as a junior doctor. As Adam says: 'I've now had a lot of time to reflect on the incident that saw me hang up my stethoscope. The simple truth was that I couldn't face ever having to deal with something like that ever again . . . I have so much respect for anyone who works on the front line of the NHS, because when it came down to it, I certainly couldn't.'
Adam turned his experiences into a sell-out Edinburgh Festival show with a sell-out run at the Soho Theatre, which met with rave reviews. Most of the audience spent the first 50 minutes in fits of laughter and the final 10 in tears.
