The results are in at the parish council election, while Alan's hopes are dashed.

Alan has decided to not to use Lynda's Sleeping Beauty script. Casting was a disappointment - only Susan showed up for auditions - whereas Nic is totally on top of the nativity. Lynda thinks Alan needs to be utterly ruthless. Alan persuades Nic to help recruit Eddie, and proudly informs Lynda he has cast his Dame. Lynda helpfully points out that he now has a cast of two. Lynda and Robert also gossip about Lilian and Justin's wedding and the Melling scam. Jim says that Justin is in the frame for Matt's 'accident'.

Emma's not optimistic, as the votes are in for the Parish Council Election - Robert's popular with actual voters. The news of a recount takes Emma by surprise. Nic finds her hiding in the toilets - losing will be harder now she knows she was so close. Jim naughtily informs Emma that she has indeed beaten Robert. However, Jim's disappointed that Robert isn't bitter.

Lynda's unimpressed to hear Emma already trying to get out of her Speed watch shift - she's trying to wriggle out of her commitments. Robert disagrees - thanks to Emma, turnout has doubled. She has really engaged younger people, and that's what the Council needs. That's why Robert's covering Emma's Speed watch shift - and why he voted for her himself.
