With over 37,000 people on social housing waiting lists is it time for a radical re-think in terms of house design, size, cost etc? Do we need to reimagine what actually constitutes a house - does it have to be bricks and mortar, should we be looking at different types of homes costing much, much less? And what are the social difficulties arising from being on the list long-term in terms of keeping families together, managing relationships and somehow establishing a sense of community?
