Farming Today This Week: Machinery
Charlotte Smith heads out tyre-kicking in Lincolnshire for Farming Today This Week's focus on the fast-changing world of agricultural machinery.
After a week that saw day two of LAMMA - the UK's biggest agricultural machinery show - cancelled because of dangerous weather conditions, Charlotte Smith goes to Lincolnshire to gauge the mood at Garford Farm Machinery - speaking to MD Philip Garford and Sales Manager Chris Lunn about the agricultural machinery sector today; the booming second hand market; safety when using farm equipment; and the future of on-farm machinery and robotics.
Meanwhile Anna Hill visits machinery vendor Cheffins in Cambridgeshire to find out about the 'Brexit boom' for second-hand equipment, with Director of Machinery Auctions Bill Pepper; Nancy Nicolson learns about the 100-year anniversary of Fordson Tractors; and Lucy Taylor meets Rick and Laura Holt, Evesham-based tomato growers, to find out about their reliance on machinery as well as people power - and how that balance might change in future.
Presented by Charlotte Smith; produced by Lucy Taylor.
