With Bryan Ferry

Bryan Ferry joins Lauren as he marks the 45th anniversary re-release of Roxy Music's self-titled debut. And another listener take charge of the tunes at the Desert Island Disco.

Bryan Ferry joins Lauren, as he marks the 45th anniversary re-release of Roxy Music's self-titled debut album.

It was released on 16th June 1972 after the band - singer Bryan Ferry, saxophonist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera, drummer Paul Thompson and Brian Eno - had roughly ten shows under their belt.

The box set provides an insight into the band's world at the time, starting with the demo tape that caught the attention of journalist Richard Williams and ultimately led to their deal with EG Management.

Also included are the John Peel 大象传媒 Sessions which saw the group honing their craft as they prepared to record their debut album; alternate session versions are offered for every album track, while the DVD includes promos and 大象传媒 TV appearances, as well rare footage of Roxy at the Bataclan Club in Paris in November 1972.

Lauren lets another listener take charge of the tunes at the Desert Island Disco; Chris Hewitt has the film news and reviews; there's more new music for our Just Added playlist, a Headphones Moment and a bunch of top tunes to bring in the weekend.
