Lauren's joined in the 6 Music Live Room by Ezra Furman, a young singer-songwriter who hails from Chicago and has said that he defies any critic to sum up his musical output with a genre label.

His new album Transangelic Exodus is due out this Friday, on Bella Union, and he's said that it's "not a concept record, but almost a novel, or a cluster of stories on a theme, a combination of fiction and a half-true memoir. A personal companion for a paranoid road trip. A queer outlaw saga."
