Adam takes the strain, while Susan feels unappreciated.
There's another blow for Brian when The Westbury Courier's runs a story on him being snubbed at the Borsetshire Businessperson of the Year Awards, 'Tainted Businessman Stripped of Title'. The bad news continues when Adam tells Jennifer that one of his soft fruit buyers has cancelled their order because of the contamination, even though the polytunnels are nowhere near Low Mead. Adam's convinced that all this bad publicity is having an effect.
Meanwhile, Brian's nursing himself with a whiskey at the Bull. His car needs repairing and the costs just keep mounting up. He's also not had much luck hunting down 'Young Bob' who is now in a nursing home with dementia and may have held some more clues as to what happened with the toxic drums dumped at Low Mead in the 70s.
Philip Moss gives Brian a lift home and the two get onto the topic of Kirsty Miller. Philip reveals that the two had lunch together and things went well, 'she's a breath of fresh air' he tells Brian, but Brian's not so sure, he thinks he'll 'have his hands full with that one'.
Chris tells Susan that Alice didn't come home last night after her work party, she stayed at a friend's and has had a punishing migraine all day but is cooking them a nice shepherd's pie tonight.
Susan is determined to get goat milk kefir off the ground which means persuading Pat to milk her goats earlier so that Susan can get underway with the fermentation process. Helen shuts her down; Pat is retired and besides this is not the farm's priority right now. That gets Susan thinking that perhaps she should think about finding a different job, she's going to find an employer who appreciates her leadership potential. Then she'll have the pleasure of telling Helen Archer to 'stuff her stupid job'.
