Documentary. The Pill Hobblers allow cameras to follow them for the first time in their 600-year history. The city's docks gear up for their biggest maritime event of the year.
A new recruit joins a unique group of dock workers called Pill Hobblers who work the ships at Avonmouth. An old cargo crane in the city docks is converted into a bed and breakfast, while the port police take care of a South American stowaway found on a car transporter ship. A woman learns to swim in order to compete in the Harbourside Triathlon, and the port clears mud and silt from the seabed, making way for the largest fuel tanker its ever had. Bristol's most famous ship - The Matthew - tries out a new helmsman - the skipper's eight-year-old son. An 拢8 million convoy of aircraft wings is transported to the port in the middle of the night for export to Spain. Meanwhile at the 46th Bristol Harbour Festival, the harbour master tries his hardest to convince a couple of naked swimmers to put their clothes back on.
