Men after #MeToo
Should all men review their own behaviour following the Harvey Weinstein #metoo revelations?
Men talk about all sorts of things. Here are some conversations they tend not to have.
After Harvey Weinstein and #metoo, daily sexual harassment revelations and disputes over power and pay, gender relations are in a state of flux and the male psyche is under scrutiny.
Martin Daubney is the former Editor of lads-mag 'Loaded' and went on to form the 'Men & Boys Coalition'. He thinks we're focusing disproportionately on the bad stories, and that we need to stress the behaviour of decent guys and set positive examples of masculinity for each other and our children. Deborah Frances-White from 'The Guilty Feminist' podcast explains that it doesn't matter why male behaviour is changing in the wake of #metoo, as long as does. Chris Hemmings, author of 'Be a Man' talks about the misogynist drunken culture that was rampant in his University rugby club, why he turned his back on it, and how he sees it as part of the Weinstein culture. The Male Room Millennials talk about how it has led them to reassess themselves, and each other.
Producer: James Cook.
