The Lullaby Trust

The Lullaby Trust aims to put a stop to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (also known as cot death). Every week around 4 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly in the UK, devastating families who will never receive an explanation as to why this happened. Through raising awareness of how parents can reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome and investing in research The Lullaby Trust aims to bring this number down to zero. 聽

Reaching parents with life-saving advice

Reaching parents with life-saving advice
The Lullaby Trust aims to reach as many families as possible with vital advice on how to sleep their baby more safely through sharing information online, distributing leaflets in hospitals and clinics,聽 running a free information helpline and training health visitors and midwives to educate parents on sleeping their baby more safely.

Funding research

Funding research

Funding research means that we understand much more about the risk factors leading to sudden infant death syndrome and how to avoid them, which has led to a huge reduction in deaths. The Lullaby Trust is committed to funding research to find out more about why babies die suddenly and unexpectedly and how those deaths can be prevented.

Supporting families

Supporting families

The Lullaby Trust supports parents who have lost a baby through their bereavement helpline and befriender scheme. For parents whose baby has died suddenly and unexpectedly having another child can be a difficult and worrying time. The Lullaby Trust runs a programme in conjunction with the NHS that provides extra support for bereaved parents during pregnancy and after birth allowing them to enjoy those early months.
