All the local, national and international news and sport. People in Northern Ireland will now be able to check if their partner has a history of domestic violence.
A scheme which allows people to check whether their partner has a history of violence comes into effect here today. The domestic violence disclosure scheme - known as Clare's Law - has been operating in the rest of the UK for several years. Fergal Leonard's sister Connie was murdered by her partner, Peadar Phair, in Fermanagh last May. Phair - who had a history of violence against women - then killed himself. Fergal has appealed to people to make use of the scheme.
