Hundreds of people attend a vigil in support of a Derry Sinn Fein councillor whose car was destroyed in an arson attack.

Several hundred people attended a vigil last night outside the home of Derry Sinn Fein councillor Kevin Campbell whose car was destroyed in arson attack in the early hours of yesterday morning. Councillor Campbell told the crowd those responsible would not deter him from doing his work.

The DUP's former Health Minister Jim Wells has accused the party of trying to get rid of him because of his opposition to gay marriage and abortion. Mr Wells quit as Health Minister on April 27, 2015, after being falsely accused of linking child abuse to gay marriage. In an article in today's Belfast Telegraph, he says he was told he'd be given the job back, but that never happened.
