Mark and Beth
Documentary series. Single dad Mark spends little time with his son and takes advantage of his mother, can he fix his family relationships and start dating again?
There is one more job for our wise helpers as single dad Mark and A&E nurse Beth welcome their worldly advice in the final episode of the series.
54-year-old Mark is a single father to 8-year-old son Sammy. Mark's wife died two years ago and since then he has relied on his mother to help with cooking, cleaning and childcare. She has even moved into a house up the road so that she can devote her life to them. Mark takes advantage of his 79-year-old mother, spending very little time with his son and even when he does, he avoids discussing anything emotional. He wants to start dating again, but the sages make him realise that he needs to work on his relationship with his son and mother first. Will he listen to the voices beaming from the other side of the world?
Beth has just finished her exams and is about to begin her first solo week as an A&E nurse, her dream job. She's terrified that people won't take her seriously and that she won't be able to cope under the pressure. Until now she has never been left on her own to treat patients, so if she doesn't prove herself by the end of the week, when she undergoes an evaluation by the head nurse, then she could be sent packing. Can she prove to her boss that she has what it takes?
The sages are Gwen and Elisa, Mark and Joe, Lillian and Sister Una.
