TSB Fraud Risk, Dumping DIY Waste, Disability in Music

Are TSB's IT problems leaving customers at risk of fraud? Plus the councils charging to dispose of DIY waste but taking a risk on fly tipping, and disability in classical music.

The police and Action Fraud are warning customers of TSB to take extra care after some of them received fraudulent emails. TSB is struggling to resolve serious problems with its computer systems and there's concern that the IT crisis could leave their customers more vulnerable to fraud. We have spoken to one TSB customer who says she had more than 拢3600 taken from her account last week. It's not clear how the alleged fraud happened or if it had anything to do with TSB's computer problems. The bank says it is aware that some customers are receiving emails and tweets from people claiming to be from TSB.

Many local authorities have started charging people to dispose of waste from DIY or building projects. It's a way for councils to save money. In the past it's been free to throw these things away at recycling and waste disposal centres. But there's concern that more people will seek to avoid the charges by simply dumping the waste, leading to an increase in cases of fly tipping. We hear why some local authorities are choosing to take a risk on that, while others have decided not to introduce the new charges.

Evidence from Arts Council England suggests that disabled people are very under-represented in the world of classical music. But several new initiatives are aiming to welcome more people with disabilities into the industry. The British Paraorchestra is one, and its conductor, Charles Hazelwood tells us why he feels barriers still exist for disabled musicians. He also shares with us his conviction that people with disabilities have something special and unique to offer classical music that can enrich how music is written, performed and enjoyed.
