Sybil Ruscoe visits the Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire to examine the state of the UK equine industry. She meets members of staff from the British Horse Society and noses around the all essential trade stalls.
Sybil hears about three-day eventing from Pippa Roome, editor of Horse and Hound, and meets Sarah Phillips, who's Chief Operating Officer of the British Horse Society. Sarah discusses horse welfare issues, the strengths and weaknesses of the horse passport system, and Mark Smalley visits Horse World, a horse rescue charity near Bristol, to find out about a large number of shire horses that were abandoned last autumn.
Clare Worden visits the Magpie Centre in West Norfolk to find out about the work done by the Riding for the Disabled Association.
