International Tree Foundation (ITF) works with communities in Africa and the UK to carry out sustainable community forestry projects. Through the 20 Million Trees campaign, ITF aim to plant 20 million trees in and around Kenya鈥檚 forests by 2024, working with local communities.聽
Anastacia鈥檚 story
Farmer and single mother Anastacia (whose story you hear in the appeal) is passionate about planting trees. Thanks to her involvement with ITF Anastacia has improved her livelihood and can support her family.聽
Women鈥檚 Groups
Anastacia is a member of Wamiti Women (鈥淲omen of the Trees鈥�), who run a community tree nursery. Such self-help groups allow women to share the benefits of their work and strengthen one another
Why Trees?
The trees grown by people like Anastacia will protect the local climate and provide vital resources for rural Kenyan communities now and in the future.聽
