Poland have made a stunning move up the world rankings, rising to as high as seventh in 2017. Their star man is undoubtedly Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern Munich striker top scored in the whole of European qualifying with a record tally of 16 goals. Opponents Japan have been ever-present at the World Cup since they first qualified in 1998, but they have only progressed passed the group stage twice and finished bottom of their group in Brazil four years ago.
