Curtis Stigers, Sofka Zinovieff, Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, and a tribute to Oliver Knussen

Sean Rafferty presents, with live music from jazz singer Curtis Stigers and the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet. Sofka Zinovieff talks about her new novel and we remember Oliver Knussen.

Sean Rafferty presents a lively mix of music, conversation and arts news. Sean is joined by Mark-Anthony Turnage, Leila Josefowicz, and George Benjamin to pay tribute to the composer and conductor Oliver Knussen who died today. Live music comes from jazz singer Curtis Stigers, who is performing a series of Sinatra-inspired concerts around the UK this week with Ronnie Scott's Big Band. The Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, who play at Buxton International Festival on Thursday, are also live in studio with three Argentinian pieces perfect for a summer evening. Plus author Sofka Zinovieff talks about the music in her new novel Putney, which is centred around the grooming of a 13 year old girl by a (fictitious) English composer.
