Prisoners Abroad is a human rights and welfare charity providing humanitarian aid, advice and emotional support to people affected by overseas imprisonment. We assist British citizens during their incarceration. No matter how far from home they should not feel desolate, frightened or alone. Our support continues when they return to the UK and need access to resettlement services, and we also support their family and friends throughout the trauma.

No person should suffer conditions that threaten their life, dignity or health.聽

Imprisonment overseas can be terrifying. People are often forced to live in filthy conditions, where overcrowding is common and violence is rife. Poor living conditions can impact the health of prisoners, and with a lack of nutritious food and access to medical care the situation can be fatal.聽

Jon was in prison in Thailand and has shared his story for this appeal. Jon survived harsh conditions, illness and isolation but has been able to return to the UK and has started to build a positive future.

We support over 1,700 people every year who are detained overseas in often desperate situations.聽 With your help Prisoners Abroad can provide clean water, vitamins and urgent medical treatment to people in prison to help save lives.聽
