Farmers have given a cautious welcome to the announcement by the Department for International Trade that it has secured what it describes as a 'major deal' to allow the export of UK seed potatoes to China. Caz Graham hears reaction from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board and a farmer-owned cooperative of seed potato growers. All family businesses struggle with succession - ie how to pass the business on to the next generation in a way that's both fair to everyone and practical. Farming Today hears from one Wiltshire family which has to balance the needs of four siblings. Half of the world's population of Manx shearwaters live on Skomer Island off the Pembrokeshire coast. Researchers on Skomer have carried out a full census of the population, and they say the species is a key indicator of the health of our seas.
