As the RAF marks its centenary, Aled Jones is at the Rhyl Air Show in north Wales to hear the extraordinary stories of two Second World War pilots, Welsh local hero David Lord, who was awarded a posthumous Victoria Cross, and 97-year-old Ernie Holmes, a Lancaster bomber pilot who miraculously survived being shot down over occupied territory.
Josie d'Arby visits Winchester Cathedral 100 years after a simple gravestone inscription inspired the creation of the worldwide movement Alcoholics Anonymous.
And the programme meets Christian Joey G, who is using rap music to bring the message of Jesus to the young people of north Wales. There is also a special performance by Blake and The Military Wives Choir, as well as hymns and songs from north Wales and across the UK.

Stories
David Lord is the only recipient of the Victoria Cross from RAF Transport command. He was awarded the medal posthumously for flying his Dakota during Operation Market Garden to secure the bridge at Arnheim in 1944. Hit by anti-aircraft fire he continued to fly his burning plane to drop the much needed supplies and stayed at the controls until the wing burnt through. A man of strong faith, if he had survived the war he would have returned to train for the Catholic Priesthood.
Winchester and the inspiration for Alcoholics Anonymous
Josie d鈥橝rby discovers the amazing story of American Bill Wilson, who as a young soldier wandered through Winchester Cathedral exactly 100 years ago. 聽An inscription on a gravestone caught his eye. 聽It commemorated a soldier who had died in the 1700s from drinking beer. 聽Many years afterwards, following his own battle with alcoholism, Bill Wilson co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous and wrote about how that gravestone inscription stayed with him.
Ernie Holmes
Ernie is a 97 year old former Lancaster Bomber pilot. He recalls the extraordinary story of being shot down in 1944 and rescued by a Dutch farmer who risked his life to save him and other servicemen.
Joey G
Joey G and his family attend a church near Rhyl. He tells Aled how he uses rap music to get the message of Jesus across to the young people of North Wales.
